Alta Lake State Park

The 181-acre recreation area combines pine forests with desert terrain, featuring a 2-mile long lake surrounded by natural landscapes and hiking paths.

The establishment of Alta Lake State Park in 1951 marked the beginning of a public outdoor recreation space in the eastern Washington region.

The park functions as a community gathering point where local residents and visitors participate in water activities, fishing tournaments, and outdoor education programs.

Visitors require a Discovery Pass for parking, with annual passes costing $30 and daily passes $10, while camping sites accommodate vehicles up to 38 feet.

Following the 2016 wildfire, the park underwent regeneration, now displaying new vegetation growth and seasonal wildflower displays throughout the grounds.
