Shuswap Lake Marine Provincial Park

The park encompasses 23 distinct sites around Shuswap Lake, featuring both land-based locations and water-accessible areas spread across 896 hectares of protected territory.

Established in 1980, this protected area preserves the natural shoreline of Shuswap Lake, which has been home to Secwepemc First Nations communities for generations.

The park contains numerous archaeological sites with pictographs and kekulis that demonstrate the long-standing presence of Indigenous peoples in the region.

While some locations can be reached by road, many sites are only accessible by boat, and camping operates on a first-come, first-served basis without reservations.

The lake's distinctive H-shape consists of four main arms that converge at Cinnemousun Narrows, formed through extensive glacial scouring of the Shuswap Highlands.
