Silver Beach Provincial Park, Provincial park at Seymour Arm of Shuswap Lake, British Columbia, Canada
Silver Beach Provincial Park sits along the Seymour Arm of Shuswap Lake in British Columbia and features a sandy beach with clear water for swimming and paddling. Walking trails wind through the surrounding landscape, connecting different parts of the property.
The park was established in 1969 on the site of a former gold rush settlement called Ogden City. The settlement was later known as Seymour Arm before the area became the park it is today.
The park maintains strong connections with Indigenous Peoples, incorporating their perspectives and knowledge in representing the region's history and traditions.
The park has around 35 campsites available for both vehicles and boats on a first-come, first-served basis, with fire rings and basic facilities. The flat terrain makes it easy to navigate and access from both the water and land.
The shallow water over sandbars near the main beach creates ideal conditions for various water sports. This geological feature results from where the Seymour River flows into the larger lake.
