The Belton Chalets complex consists of five buildings featuring Swiss Chalet design elements, including wide eaves, balconies, and ornamental fretwork patterns.
Constructed between 1910 and 1911 by the Great Northern Railway, the Belton Chalets marked the beginning of tourism development in Glacier National Park.
The interior spaces incorporate elements of mountain heritage through taxidermy displays, Native American designs, and John Fery oil paintings of Glacier Park.
Located across from West Glacier train station, the hotel provides access to 700 miles of hiking trails while offering dining services and private bathrooms.
The hotel staff members in the early 1900s wore traditional alpine clothing and cowboy outfits to create a European mountain experience in Montana.
