Southland Leisure Centre, Recreation center in Palliser, Calgary, Canada
Southland Leisure Centre is a recreation facility in Calgary offering multiple activity zones for all ages. It houses wave pools, water parks, diving pools, ice rinks, climbing walls, and fitness areas.
The center opened in 1983 alongside development of the Palliser neighborhood. Since then, it has undergone several expansions to add more facilities.
The facility received recognition as Best Family Recreation Centre in Calgary's Child Magazine Parents' Choice Awards, emphasizing its role in community recreation.
The center is easily accessible by car via Southland Drive or by public transit from the area. The MAX Yellow line and bus routes 95, 99, 125, and 126 serve Southland Station nearby.
The facility features a dedicated AquaPlay zone with slides, tipping buckets, and spray stations designed specifically for young children. This colorful water play area with ropes and bridges is particularly popular with families.
