Opening in 2017 as a replacement for Taylor Field, the stadium required an investment of 278 million dollars funded through government grants and ticket surcharges.
Section 531 contains an orange seat known as the Seat of Truth, commemorating the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation for Indigenous communities.

The stadium hosted the 2019 NHL Heritage Classic outdoor hockey game between the Winnipeg Jets and Calgary Flames in winter conditions.
