RCMP Heritage Centre, Law enforcement museum at RCMP Academy Depot Division, Regina, Canada
The RCMP Heritage Centre is a museum at the RCMP Academy in Regina that shows the development of Canadian federal policing through various exhibits and media installations. The building contains uniforms, vehicles, weapons, and documents from different periods that record how the organization has changed over time.
The museum was founded in 2007 and replaced an older collection that had preserved the organization's history since the 1930s. The new building provided space to display more objects and tell the police history more fully.
The center displays how the Royal Canadian Mounted Police has worked with Indigenous communities in this region and what role these relationships played in local history. The exhibits tell stories of mutual respect and the complexities of a long shared past.
It is easiest to access if you focus on the main exhibits and allow plenty of time for the different sections. If possible, book a trolley tour in advance to explore the training grounds and barracks.
A special feature is being able to watch real police cadets training and attend the daily parade ceremony. This experience gives visitors a glimpse into the actual work and training of the organization that is otherwise not open to the public.
