RCMP Heritage Centre, Law enforcement museum at RCMP Academy Depot Division, Regina, Canada
The RCMP Heritage Centre is a museum on the grounds of the RCMP Academy in Regina, Saskatchewan, dedicated to the history of Canadian federal policing. It displays uniforms, vehicles, weapons, and documents alongside audiovisual installations that cover different periods of the organization.
The collection traces back to the 1930s, when the Mounties began preserving their institutional history in a dedicated space. The current building opened in 2007 and gave the collection room to grow and be displayed properly.
The exhibits show how the Royal Canadian Mounted Police worked alongside Indigenous peoples of the prairies, through photographs, personal objects, and written records. These materials give a sense of how deeply the Mounties were woven into everyday life across the region.
The museum sits on an active training ground, so it helps to arrive with a sense of the layout before exploring on your own. A trolley tour of the wider grounds is worth booking ahead, as spots fill up quickly.
Visitors can watch real police cadets training and attend the daily parade ceremony held on the academy grounds. This parade takes place every day and is one of the few events of its kind open to the public.
