Kathleen Lakes, Group of lakes in Yukon, Canada.

Kathleen Lakes is a group of freshwater lakes in Yukon, Canada, located within Kluane National Park at approximately 730 meters elevation. The system spans multiple connected water bodies set among forested mountain terrain.

These lakes received their name in the early 1900s from a North-West Mounted Police officer who was stationed in the region. The name references someone from his homeland in Scotland and has remained in use ever since.

The main lake holds meaning in the local Tutchone tradition as a place where people have gathered and fished for generations. This connection to the land remains visible in how the area is respected by those who visit today.

A boat launch and campground make it straightforward to spend time on the water or stay overnight in the area. Several walking trails branch out from the main site and connect to wider park paths, so you can explore at your own pace.

A local salmon population has adapted to spend its entire life in this freshwater environment without migrating to the ocean. This unusual adjustment makes the lake system stand out from typical salmon habitats in the region.
