Wildcat, Wooden roller coaster in Frontier City, Oklahoma City, United States.
Wildcat is a wooden roller coaster at Frontier City that reaches speeds of 46 miles per hour along its 2,653-foot track. The ride lasts about two minutes and features a 75-foot ascent with a 65-foot drop.
The ride was originally built in 1967 at Fairyland Park in Kansas City before being moved to Oklahoma. It began operations at Frontier City in 1991 and has been upgraded with additional equipment since then.
This wooden coaster represents traditional amusement park craftsmanship from early twentieth century America. Visitors can observe the classic construction style that defined rides of that era.
Riders must be at least 42 inches (107 cm) tall, while guests under 48 inches (122 cm) need an adult companion for the ride. It is wise to store loose items in a locker and ensure proper restraint before boarding.
An additional train was added in 2021, showing that the ride remains popular enough to warrant upgrades despite its long history. Such investment in classic wooden coasters has become uncommon in modern parks.
