Chancery Lane Swamp

Chancery Lane Swamp is a protected wetland in Christ Church, Barbados, composed of shallow open water, mudflats, and grassy areas. This mosaic of habitats supports numerous migratory birds that travel seasonally from North America.

Archaeological digs near Chancery Lane revealed remains from early settlements, showing that the area had human presence long before its protection as a nature preserve. These findings help reconstruct life in pre-colonial Barbados.
