Church of Saint Lazarus, Larnaca

The Church of Saint Lazarus is a Byzantine structure built from limestone blocks with three interior aisles supported by paired columns. The building displays semicircular apses both inside and outside, representing the architectural traditions of the period.

A Byzantine emperor commissioned this church in the late antique period to protect the tomb of Lazarus, an early bishop of the ancient city of Kition. The building became a significant religious landmark that shaped the spiritual life of the region for centuries to come.
