Church of Saint Lazarus, Larnaca

The Church of Saint Lazarus exhibits limestone blocks construction with three aisles supported by double pillars and features semicircular apses both inside and outside.

Emperor Leo VI of Byzantium ordered the construction of this church in the late 9th century over the second tomb of Lazarus, the first Bishop of Kition.

The church contains a five-room museum displaying Byzantine icons, vestments, sacred books, and religious artifacts that represent Orthodox Christian heritage.

The church opens daily at 8 AM except Sundays at 6:30 AM, with closing times at 6:30 PM during summer and 5:30 PM in winter.

During renovations in 1972, workers discovered human remains beneath the altar, identified as fragments of Saint Lazarus's relics.
