Christ Blessing, Religious statue in Manado, Indonesia.
Christ Blessing is a colossal statue in Manado composed of a 30-meter figure rising from a 20-meter pedestal, reaching approximately 50 meters in total height. The sculpture stands within the CitraLand residential development and dominates the skyline from various vantage points.
The real estate developer Ciputra commissioned the statue, which required three years of construction by engineers from Yogyakarta, completing in 2007. The metalwork and steel engineering represent a significant milestone in the region's architectural development.
The monument serves as a focal point for Christian community gatherings and religious services in North Sulawesi. It shapes the spiritual identity and everyday religious expression of people living in the area.
Access to the monument is through the CitraLand residential area, where the Luwansa Hotel and Convention Center are located nearby. Visitors should confirm access conditions in advance, as the site sits on private property with specific visiting guidelines.
The sculpture was deliberately constructed with a 20-degree tilt, making it the world's first leaning statue of this scale. This unusual design choice sets it distinctly apart from other religious monuments worldwide.
