Al Jahra Governorate, Administrative region in northern Kuwait
The Al Jahra Governorate spans 11,176 square kilometers and covers two-thirds of Kuwait's total territory, containing vast desert areas and agricultural zones.
The region gained significance during the 1920 Battle of Jahra, where Kuwaiti forces defended their territory against external attacks at the Red Fort.
The governorate maintains agricultural traditions through numerous farms, continuing practices that date back to its origins as an oasis settlement.
The area connects to Kuwait City through multiple ring roads and Highway 80, providing essential transportation links to the Iraqi border.
The geographic center point of Kuwait lies within Al Jahra Governorate, which also includes Bubiyan Island and Warbah Island.
