Monatsschlössl, Baroque hunting lodge and folklore museum on Hellbrunn Mountain, Austria.

The Monatsschlössl is a Baroque building that sits on a forested hillside above Salzburg with views overlooking the city and surrounding mountains. It houses a folklore museum containing furniture, costumes, and crafted objects from the Pinzgau region.

A prince bishop built this hunting lodge in 1615 as a retreat that needed to be completed quickly. The building has remained in the same location ever since and was later converted into a museum.

The museum displays traditional Salzburg costumes and religious objects from the region. The collection shows how people here once dressed for celebrations and what they valued in their daily lives.

The museum is open from March through November and can be visited along with other attractions on the grounds. Visitors should wear sturdy shoes since the path to the building winds through forest and is hilly.

The museum preserves Samson figures and Perchten masks used in local customs of the region. These objects represent rituals that have been practiced in the area for centuries.
