Top Mountain Motorcycle Museum, Motorcycle museum at Timmelsjoch Pass base, Sölden, Austria.
The Top Mountain Motorcycle Museum is a motorcycle museum at the base of Timmelsjoch Pass in Sölden and displays around 450 vehicles in a modern wooden building. The collection spans roughly 4,000 square meters (43,000 square feet) of exhibition space and is housed in an alpine setting.
The museum was founded in 2016 by twin brothers Alban and Attila Scheiber and has experienced major changes since. A devastating fire in January 2021 destroyed 230 motorcycles from the collection, but the museum was rebuilt afterward.
The museum displays motorcycles from over 100 manufacturers across different countries and eras, ranging from early models to modern machines. Visitors can explore the diversity of motorcycle culture and see how different brands developed their own designs and technologies.
The museum is located at a multi-purpose facility with a restaurant serving warm meals, a ticketing system for Timmelsjoch Road, and access to the Kirchenkar Cable Car. Visitors should know that it sits at high altitude where weather can change quickly.
The museum features a 4D cinema that simulates motorcycle journeys and offers visitors an immersive experience. Additionally, there are interactive installations like the Motor Wall and an exhibition about the sounds of motorcycles, which present technical details in an entertaining way.
