Wurmkogel

Wurmkogel is a mountain in the Ötztal Alps that reaches 3082 meters and forms part of the Gurgler Kamm ridge system. The summit holds a station building with a restaurant and facilities that connect to cable car lines below.

The Hochgurglerbahn station near the summit was built in the late 20th century to expand winter sports access in the region. This development transformed how people used the mountain from hiking routes to ski terrain.

The restaurant at the summit shows how contemporary design fits into Alpine tradition. Visitors experience dining as part of mountain culture, where elevation and views shape the entire experience.

Visitors can reach the mountain station via cable car from Obergurgl or by skiing down from Untergurgl. The best season runs from November through May when snow conditions are reliable and lifts operate regularly.

The mountain stays snow-covered well into spring due to its height, allowing skiing from November through June. This extended season is rare for other Alpine areas and draws winter sports enthusiasts year-round.
