Gaiskogel

Gaiskogel is a 3129 meter peak in the Stubai Alps shaped like a pointed pyramid, visible from various huts across the region. The area features steep slopes and alpine meadows with views toward neighboring mountain ranges.

Located on the main ridge of the Stubai Alps, this peak remains less traveled than nearby summits such as Zuckerhütl. The lower foot traffic has allowed the mountain to retain more of its natural appearance.

Climbers use this peak as a waypoint on longer mountain journeys, stopping at the huts to rest and taking in views across the surrounding ridges and valleys.

The climb starts from Sölden with a bus trip to Gasthof Fiegl at 1968 meters, then continues with a three-hour hike to reach the mountain huts. The terrain requires solid endurance and proper alpine gear as you gain elevation.

The route from Siegerlandhütte follows marked trail 140 toward Hildesheimer Hut and splits near Triebenkarsee at 2700 meters for the final approach to the summit. This path links several huts into one connected journey across the high mountains over multiple days.
