Saatly District

The district encompasses an area of 1,180 square kilometers at 28 meters below sea level, featuring a semi-arid climate with dry summers.

Established in 1943, the district contains archaeological sites with pottery materials from the 2nd and 3rd millennia BC in villages like Azadkend and Fatalikend.

The district maintains traditional Azerbaijani customs through local events, with a population that includes both Azerbaijani majority and Turkish minority communities.

The region operates nineteen schools, one central hospital, eleven health centers, and multiple agricultural facilities focusing on cotton and vegetable production.

During World War II, 1,600 residents of Saatly District joined the front lines, with 533 individuals sacrificing their lives in the conflict.
