Salimullah Muslim Hall

Salimullah Muslim Hall, Student residence at University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Salimullah Muslim Hall is a student residence at the University of Dhaka built as a quadrangular structure with two floors arranged around a central courtyard. The building contains dormitory rooms, dining areas, common rooms, study spaces, and prayer facilities linked by covered passages.

The building was inaugurated in 1931, originally established as Muslim Hall within the Secretariat House before being relocated to its current site at the University of Dhaka. This move established it as a central residential hub for students within the academic campus.

Named after Nawab Sir Salimullah Khan, the hall serves as a gathering space where students meet for discussions, events, and social occasions that shape their university experience.

The building sits within the campus and is easily accessible by foot, with the courtyard layout making navigation straightforward. Keep in mind this is an active residential facility, so access to common areas and private spaces follows specific guidelines.

The southern entrance features two square towers topped with yellow-tiled domes, while corner projections display distinctive triple domes resting on square bases. These architectural elements add an unexpected decorative touch to the otherwise straightforward structure.
