Eurostadium, Proposed football stadium in Grimbergen, Belgium.
Eurostadium was a proposed football stadium in Grimbergen, located north of Brussels, designed to hold about 62,600 spectators. The project focused exclusively on football matches and entertainment events, without including an athletics track.
The Ghelamco/BAM Consortium was selected as the preferred developer in March 2015, with construction completion targeted for 2019. The project was cancelled after the Flemish Minister rejected the environmental permit in January 2018.
The facility intended to host matches for UEFA Euro 2020 and serve as the primary venue for the Belgian national football team.
Since the project was never built, there is nothing on site to visit today. Information about the planned location and the project's history can be found in local archives and news coverage.
In January 2018, the Flemish Minister rejected the environmental permit application, which led to the cancellation of the project.
