Viktor's race, Family roller coaster in Plopsaland De Panne, Belgium
Viktor's Race is a Zierer-designed coaster at Plopsaland De Panne with a layout stretching 360 meters and featuring a double figure-eight path. The ride reaches speeds of 36 kilometers per hour and travels at a height of about 8 meters above ground.
The ride opened in 1976 as Keverbaan, originally positioned near the park entrance as a foundational attraction. It underwent several transformations before being renamed Viktor's Race in 2013.
The ride takes its theme from a Belgian television series, featuring characters from Studio 100 productions throughout its design. Visitors can spot these familiar figures from popular shows in the animation and decoration as they move through the course.
The ride uses a specialized tire lift system to move the train along the track. With twenty cars accommodating forty riders at once, it can transport about 1250 passengers per hour.
The ride uses an unusual tire lift system instead of traditional chain lifts to propel the train upward. This propulsion method is distinctive and sets it apart from typical coasters found elsewhere.
