Vidin Province, Administrative province in northwestern Bulgaria.

Vidin Province is an administrative region in northwestern Bulgaria that stretches along the Danube and is marked by forests and plains. The territory is divided into eleven municipalities, with Vidin city serving as the administrative center.

The territory formed an important defensive line during medieval times with fortresses like Baba Vida castle protecting the region from northern attacks. This strategic role shaped the area for centuries.

The region carries strong marks of its past in local names and buildings that tell of long human settlement. Today, people here connect with the river landscapes and forests that shape daily life.

The region is best explored by focusing on the main city and surrounding areas, since the eleven municipalities spread across a large territory. The Danube Bridge 2 provides the main connection to neighboring regions.

The Magura Cave holds prehistoric paintings from the Stone Age, showing that humans have lived here for thousands of years. These early artistic expressions offer a window into the lives of the region's first inhabitants.
