Asar kaya

Asar Kaya is a megalithic site near Zhenda featuring tall rock formations positioned on a high terrace above the surrounding landscape. The surface is covered with numerous carved niches and grooves that define the character of this ancient place.

The site dates to ancient times and served as a ceremonial place for early agricultural societies who carved steps into the rock. These carved elements show that the location remained in use across different periods for important community gatherings.

The rock formations display carved representations of animals, humans, and birds along with circles and grooves that reveal how ancient people expressed their beliefs and daily practices. These engraved symbols show the spiritual connection these communities had to the natural world around them.

The site can be reached by walking a path of about 1.8 kilometers from the main road sign or by driving closer on an unpaved but manageable road. Sturdy footwear is recommended since the terrain is uneven and some sections have steep inclines.

The site features a mushroom-shaped rock formation about 8 meters tall decorated with carved niches, positioned roughly 100 meters below the fortress summit. This distinctive shape and its placement make it a striking landmark that many visitors overlook.
