CKIS-FM, radio station
CKIS-FM, also known as Kiss 92.5, is a radio station in Toronto, Ontario, broadcasting on 92.5 MHz. Its studios are based in the Rogers Building near Bloor and Jarvis Streets, and the station focuses on pop, hip-hop, and R&B music.
The station launched in 1993 as CISS-FM with a country music format aimed at listeners aged 25 to 54. It changed formats several times over the years, eventually becoming Kiss 92.5 in 2009 with a focus on current hit music.
The name Kiss comes from how the original call letters CISS-FM sounded when spoken out loud. The station targets a young city audience, and its mix of pop, hip-hop, and R&B has made it a familiar soundtrack to daily life in Toronto.
The signal covers the Greater Toronto Area and can be picked up as far north as Barrie and as far south as Niagara Falls, roughly 60 miles (about 100 km) apart. Listeners outside the broadcast area can stream the station online through its website or app.
Since 2016, Kiss 92.5 has used HD Radio technology to broadcast several channels at once on the same frequency. One of those extra channels carries a news station while another offers sports programming, all without using a separate frequency.
