Coca-Cola Coliseum, Indoor arena in Exhibition Place, Toronto, Canada
The Coca-Cola Coliseum is a multipurpose hall in Exhibition Place, Toronto, that hosts sports and entertainment events across roughly 8,140 seats. The structure blends brick and concrete in a curved silhouette typical of early twentieth-century design.
The hall opened on December 16, 1921, after Toronto voters approved construction, and an athletic meet drew around 5,000 spectators. During the Second World War, the Canadian Air Force used the space to train recruits before it returned to hosting events after the conflict.
The name honors a sponsorship agreement, while the facade still shows its early roots as a twenties sports venue. Visitors can still see curved lines and brickwork that recall a time when such halls became social meeting points in North American cities.
Guests reach the hall through Exhibition GO Station or the Exhibition Loop and find around 5,000 parking spaces at Exhibition Place. The grounds lie near the waterfront, so a short walk completes the journey.
Early plans called for wooden seating, but the city chose fixed seats to reduce fire risk. That choice still shapes the interior today, as the sturdy tiers have survived decades of renovation.
