Saputo Stadium, Soccer stadium in Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, Montreal, Canada.
Saputo Stadium is a soccer venue in Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, Montreal, Canada, situated within Olympic Park. It features natural grass, seating for roughly 19600 spectators, and several corporate suites spread across a spacious site.
Construction started in April 2007 with an investment of roughly 17 million dollars, including over 7 million from the Saputo family. The venue opened in May 2008, replacing the former track and field practice site from the 1976 Summer Olympics.
The facility takes its name from the Saputo family and serves as the home ground where CF Montreal plays in front of local supporters. Its design respects sightlines between the Olympic Village and the Olympic Stadium, blending into the surrounding parkland.
The venue offers around 4000 parking spaces across six underground levels and sits near Viau and Pie-IX metro stations. Visitors can reach the site easily on foot from the Olympic Village or by using public transit.
The eastern side faces the Olympic Stadium tower and occupies the former training ground where track and field athletes prepared in 1976. Today soccer fans stand on the same ground where Olympic athletes once trained.
