Montréal Insectarium, Natural history museum in Montreal, Canada

The Insectarium presents over 250,000 specimens from numerous species, including butterflies, beetles, ants, and other arthropods in preserved and living collections.

Founded by entomologist Georges Brossard, the Insectarium opened its doors in February 1990 as part of Montreal's nature museums complex Space for Life.

The institution teaches visitors about insects through educational programs, scientific workshops, and exhibitions that demonstrate their importance in global ecosystems.

The museum welcomes guests from Tuesday to Sunday between 9 AM and 5 PM, with direct access from Pie-IX and Viau metro stations.

The architectural structure of the building, when viewed from above or the Olympic Stadium observatory, takes the shape of a large insect.
