Dow Planetarium, Planetarium in Olympic District, Montreal, Canada.
The Dow Planetarium is a modern planetarium in Montreal with two dome theaters called Chaos and Milky Way. Both theaters use advanced projection technology to immerse visitors in 360-degree cosmic environments.
The original Dow Planetarium operated shows from 1966 to 2011 at a different location in the city. In 2013, the facility relocated to its current home within the Space for Life complex.
Shows here are presented in both French and English, reflecting how Montreal's two main languages shape daily life in the city. Visitors experience how these languages naturally appear in scientific education and public programs.
The planetarium sits on Pierre-de Coubertin Avenue and is reachable via the Viau metro station. Paid parking is available on-site to make visits by car convenient.
The building holds LEED Platinum certification, showing its advanced environmental design standards in scientific architecture. This rare achievement marks it as a highly modern structure built with sustainability in mind.
