Deloitte Tower is a 26-storey office building between Windsor Station and the Bell Centre in Montreal, completed in May 2015. It rises 132.89 metres and was designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox. The building has 495,000 square feet of office space and 20,000 square feet of retail space, and is named for the professional services firm Deloitte.
The tower opened in 2015 as the first major privately funded office building to be completed in downtown Montreal in about two decades. Its arrival marked a turning point for commercial investment in the city center after a long pause.
The tower's name comes from Deloitte, the professional services firm that occupies 160,000 square feet of office space there. The building also houses the headquarters of Rio Tinto, which relocated from the Maison Alcan and occupies about 190,000 square feet on the top eight floors.
The tower's main address is 1190 avenue des Canadiens-de-Montréal, with a secondary entrance at 1115 rue Saint-Antoine Ouest. It stands directly between Windsor Station and the Bell Centre, so the surrounding sidewalks get crowded on event nights. A 230-space parking garage serves the building.
A major global mining and materials company moved its world headquarters into the upper floors of this tower, a fact that most people walking past would never guess. This makes the building a base for decisions that affect mining operations on several continents.
