Le Musée de Saint-Boniface Museum, National historic site and museum in Saint-Boniface, Canada.

The Musée de Saint-Boniface occupies a former convent with three floors built between 1846 and 1851 using traditional construction methods with oak logs. The building houses exhibitions about the region's past and demonstrates how early French-Canadian settlers constructed their homes.

The building began as Western Canada's first hospital, serving the community in this capacity for many years. It later opened as a museum in 1967 after significant renovation work and government approvals were completed.

The museum displays Franco-Manitoban and Métis heritage through everyday objects and personal items that tell the story of these communities. Visitors can see how these cultures shaped and continue to influence life in the region.

The museum is located in the Saint-Boniface neighborhood and is easily accessible by public transportation. Plan to spend at least a couple of hours to properly explore the exhibitions.

The building is Winnipeg's oldest standing structure and was constructed using a traditional joint-based technique that required no nails. This building method represents a rare example of early craftsmanship that visitors can directly observe in the architecture.
