Manitoba Club, Private social club in Downtown Winnipeg, Canada.
The Manitoba Club occupies a neoclassical building at the corner of Broadway and Fort Street, featuring tall ceilings and crystal chandeliers throughout the interior. The facility contains thirteen banquet rooms and lounges designed for corporate events, professional meetings, and private celebrations.
Ten businessmen established the Manitoba Club in 1874 as the first private club in Western Canada. The current building opened in 1905 and has remained in this downtown location ever since.
The Oak Room displays its original quarter-sawn oak paneling from the early 1900s, with portraits of former presidents and historical artworks adorning the walls. These details tell the story of the institution through its spatial design and create a tangible link to its past.
The facility is easily accessible during weekdays for meetings and events and sits on a well-traveled corner in the downtown core. Visitors should know this is a private club and entry is limited to members and their guests.
Members enjoy access to a wine collection of around 500 selections and reciprocal privileges at more than 140 private clubs worldwide. There is also a dedicated cigar room that serves as a special retreat.
