Millennium Library, Public library in downtown Winnipeg, Canada
Millennium Library is a four-story building with two underground levels containing diverse materials like books, audiobooks, and video games spread across multiple floors. Throughout the spaces you will find computer stations, printing services, and study areas designed for different needs.
The building opened in 1977 as Centennial Library to mark Winnipeg's centenary, replacing the older main library at that time. It received its current name in 2005 as a sign of renewal.
The fourth floor holds a Local History area with collections documenting Manitoba's past, while Teen Central draws young visitors with dedicated resources. You can sense the connection between modern space and the city's story here.
The building sits centrally downtown and is easy to reach with accessible entry to all areas. The different floors are clearly organized so visitors can quickly find what they need.
The building features light therapy lamps to help visitors on dark days and displays artworks from the city's public art program. These features show thoughtfulness about supporting the wellbeing of people spending time here.
