Tsanfleuron Glacier, Alpine glacier in Diablerets massif, Switzerland.

Tsanfleuron Glacier is an ice mass in the Alps that extends across several kilometers at elevations between 2,500 and 3,000 meters (8,200 to 9,800 feet). The landscape shows the typical features of an alpine glacier with steep slopes, crevasses, and snow fields that shift with the seasons and weather.

The glacier was first measured in 1884 and has been steadily shrinking since then. Its changes serve as an important indicator of long-term shifts in the Alpine region.

The glacier serves as both a natural water source for surrounding communities and a center for winter sports activities in the Swiss Alps.

Access is through Scex Rouge station, from which secure paths and special mountain transport move visitors across the terrain. Warm clothing and sturdy footwear are necessary since conditions above can be harsh and unpredictable.

In 2017, bodies from 1942 were discovered within the ice, perfectly preserved by the glacial conditions. The extreme environment had kept the remains unchanged for many decades.
