Diablerets Glacier, glacier in Diablerets massif, Switzerland. Do not confuse with the Tsanfleuron glacier.
Diablerets Glacier is an extensive ice mass high in the Swiss Alps that stretches across vast parts of the mountain landscape. Thick layers of snow and ice have built up over centuries and continue to shape the terrain around it.
The glacier formed during past ice ages and persists because of the cold mountain climate. For generations it has drawn explorers and adventurers seeking to traverse and study its icy expanse.
The glacier takes its name from the mountain peaks that surround it. The place has drawn visitors for generations seeking to experience the raw power of the Alps firsthand.
The area is accessible by cable car from the villages of Les Diablerets and Gstaad, with regular departures throughout the day. Access is well signposted and parking is available at the base stations, where maps and information can be obtained.
The Peak Walk by Tissot is a suspension bridge between two mountain summits at about 3000 meters high that gives the sensation of floating above the void. It is the only suspension bridge of its kind in the world linking two peaks at this elevation.
