Chaiserstuel

Chaiserstuel is a mountain peak located on the border between Nidwalden and Uri in central Switzerland. The summit stands at approximately 2400 meters and marks the cantonal boundary between these two regions.

The mountain has served as a natural border between valleys and communities in central Switzerland for centuries. Trading routes and local paths crossing the pass were essential connections between the settlements on either side.

The mountain slopes support traditional Swiss alpine farming practices, where local herders maintain seasonal grazing patterns for their livestock.

Several hiking routes ascend from Wolfenschiesssen toward the summit, with the cable car at Bannalpsee serving as a convenient starting point. The hiking season runs best from late spring through early autumn when snow cover is minimal.

The summit provides views of both the Bannalpsee lake and the surrounding Uri Alps, including the neighboring peak of Ruchstock at 2813 meters.
