Shenzhen Railway Station is a large transportation hub in downtown Shenzhen that handles thousands of travelers daily. The station first opened in 1911 as Shum Chun and served as the final Chinese stop on a railway connecting Kowloon to Canton. After relocating near the Hong Kong border in 1950, the original structure was demolished in 1983, and the current building opened in 1990.
