Po Lin Monastery, Buddhist monastery in Ngong Ping, Hong Kong
The monastery complex contains the main temple building, monks' residences, a restaurant, and shops situated on the Ngong Ping plateau of Lantau Island.
Three monks from Jiangsu Province established the monastery in 1906, initially naming it The Big Hut before changing it to Po Lin Monastery in 1924.
The main temple houses three bronze Buddha statues representing past, present, and future lives, alongside numerous Buddhist inscriptions and religious artifacts.
Visitors can reach the monastery via the Ngong Ping 360 cable car from Tung Chung station or by taking bus line 23 through the mountain roads.
The monastery produces wooden prayer bracelets that are exclusively available for purchase near the adjacent Tian Tan Buddha statue.

Hong Kong contains multiple observation points that reveal the urban landscape. From Victoria Peak at 552 meters to sea-level perspectives along Victoria Harbour, each location presents different angles of the city. Mountain summits, building observatories, and coastal paths allow visitors to see the dense architecture, surrounding waters, and natural terrain. The network includes historic structures like the 1847 Man Mo Temple and modern facilities such as the Sky100 deck at 393 meters elevation.
