Lantau South Country Park

Lantau South Country Park extends across 5,646 hectares of mountains, forests, and coastal areas on Lantau Island, making it the largest country park in Hong Kong.

The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department established this protected natural area in 1978 to preserve local ecosystems and create recreational spaces for the public.

The park integrates with neighboring fishing villages and traditional temples, representing the connection between Hong Kong's natural spaces and local communities.

Multiple hiking trails of varying difficulties connect throughout the park, with designated picnic areas and restroom facilities positioned at strategic locations for visitors.

The park contains both Lantau Peak and the Fan Lau Shek Pik Reservoir, while supporting populations of Chinese White Dolphins and Hong Kong Newts in its diverse ecosystems.
