Keung Shan, Mountain peak in Lantau Island, Hong Kong.
Keung Shan reaches a height of 459 meters above sea level and contains formations of porphyritic rhyolites across its volcanic terrain.
The mountain area developed two distinct settlements, Upper and Lower Keung Shan villages, which received recognition under the New Territories Small House Policy.
The mountain region forms part of the five major Buddhist locations on Lantau Island, containing numerous temples and gardens alongside Luk Wu and Ngong Ping.
Visitors can access the mountain summit through the Lantau Trail system, which connects multiple sections across the southwestern part of the island.
The mountain name translates to 'Ginger Mountain' in English, reflecting the natural vegetation that once dominated the slopes of this geological formation.
