Three Garden Road, Central, office in Central, Hong Kong
Three Garden Road is a large office building complex in central Hong Kong Island with two connected towers and retail spaces at street level. Champion Tower contains 47 floors while the neighboring ICBC Tower has 37 floors, with both structures linked by a retail podium and an underground parking area accommodating over 500 vehicles.
The site was formerly part of Murray Barracks before the building was completed in 1992. After the government opened the land for sale in 1989, Shine Hill Development purchased it for approximately 2.7 billion Hong Kong dollars and commissioned architect Rocco Yim to design an innovative structure that won the Silver Medal from the Hong Kong Institute of Architects in 1994.
The name reflects the building's location on Garden Road, which connects to nearby green spaces and parks. The complex serves as a daily gathering place where workers and visitors share meals at cafes, use the fitness center, and socialize in surrounding pubs, especially on Friday evenings when the area becomes busy with people unwinding after work.
The complex is easily accessible by public transport, situated within a short walk of two major subway stations and served by a free shuttle bus to a main railway station. The ground floor offers several cafes and restaurants with some outdoor seating options, providing convenient places to grab a meal or drink during your visit.
The interior staircases are decorated with hand-painted artwork and sometimes accompanied by live music performances, making the walk through the building more engaging. The complex was Hong Kong's first smart office building and achieved the highest LEED v4.1 Platinum rating in 2024, along with multiple green certifications including the rare Quadruple Platinum award and WELL Platinum status for occupant health.
