Harcourt Garden, Urban park in Admiralty, Hong Kong.
Harcourt Garden is a public park in Admiralty, Hong Kong, surrounded by office towers and commercial buildings. It has paved walkways, benches, trees, and patches of grass that alternate between shaded and open areas.
The ground beneath this park was once part of a British colonial military site, home to the Wellington Battery and a Military Hospital. After those buildings were cleared, the area went through stages of urban development before becoming a public green space.
The garden functions as a midday retreat for office workers seeking a break from surrounding high-rise buildings. It serves as a social space where visitors encounter both locals and colleagues sharing a moment away from busy streets.
The park sits right next to Admiralty MTR station and can be entered from several directions on foot. The paths are open and easy to follow, which makes it a convenient stop whether you are commuting or exploring the area.
The park was built on top of the MTR station structure, so visitors are actually walking on an elevated platform above the transit hub below. This is not obvious from the street level, and many people only notice it once they look down through the railings at the station entrance.
