Kornhill, Private housing estate in Eastern District, Hong Kong.
Kornhill is a residential complex in Eastern District comprising 44 apartment blocks ranging from 20 to 34 stories tall, positioned on the northern slope of Mount Parker. The development accommodates around 30,000 residents across multiple housing sections.
Construction started in 1980 on the former grounds of the Taikoo Sugar Refinery, transforming an industrial site into a residential area. The name honors Ferdinand Korn, the first senior manager of the sugar company.
The housing estate has two primary schools, the Shanghai Alumni Primary School and the Buddhist Chung Wah Kornhill Primary School, that serve the local community. These institutions are central gathering places for families living in the neighborhood.
The area connects to the rest of the city through Tai Koo MTR station, multiple bus routes, and tram stops along Kornhill Road. These transportation links provide easy access to different neighborhoods and districts.
The neighborhood divides into three distinct sections—Upper, Middle, and Lower—each offering different apartment sizes and views across the landscape. Upper Kornhill sits particularly close to Tai Tam Country Park.
