Lung Fu Shan Country Park

Lung Fu Shan Country Park is a natural reserve covering forested slopes with multiple walking trails and observation points overlooking the harbour. The grounds feature picnic areas, barbecue facilities, and fitness equipment distributed throughout the park.

The site was established in the early 1900s with construction of a coastal fortification to defend the harbour entrance. This military structure reflects the location's strategic importance during shifting historical periods.

The park serves as a nature escape for Hong Kong residents and school groups exploring local wildlife and vegetation. Walking paths and resting areas function as gathering spaces where visitors connect with the surrounding environment.

The main walking trail is clearly marked and takes about an hour to complete, with rest stops possible along the way. Rain shelters and seating are placed at various points, allowing visitors to pause when needed.

The grounds host over one hundred bird species, including rare types like the Orange-bellied Leafbird. These bird populations attract wildlife watchers and photographers who come to document their behavior and seasonal patterns.
