Ng Kwai Tong

Ng Kwai Tong is an ancestral shrine in Hang Tau Tsuen featuring traditional Chinese architecture with a single-level layout where altars and ancestor tablets are arranged by seniority. The interior space accommodates both ritual observance and the safekeeping of family records spanning generations.

The shrine was established around 1822, marking the formal presence of the Ng clan in the region. It has endured as a family anchor through more than two centuries of change in the surrounding area.

The shrine serves as a gathering place where the Ng family performs rituals to honor ancestors, keeping these traditions alive in the community. Members visit regularly to participate in ceremonies that connect them to their lineage.

The shrine is located in a residential area of Yuen Long and is accessible by public transportation. Visitors can easily combine a visit with exploration of the nearby Ping Shan Heritage Trail.
