大伊山石棺墓, Ancient stone coffin burial ground in Guanyun County, China

Daishan Stone Coffin Cemetery is an ancient burial ground with multiple tombs whose chambers were carved into solid rock. The site displays a network of stone coffins and burial spaces arranged underground, revealing skilled construction techniques used in antiquity.

The burial ground dates to ancient times and stands as one of the few surviving examples of its kind from that period. It was later designated for official protection to preserve the archaeological structures for future generations.

The cemetery reflects how ancient people viewed death and the afterlife through the objects they placed with their dead. Visitors can see how certain items were considered essential for the journey beyond, revealing the spiritual beliefs of that era.

The site is clearly marked with informational displays that guide visitors through the burial grounds. Comfortable footwear is recommended to safely explore the underground areas and carved chambers.

The stone coffins have survived in remarkable condition and still show the original chisel marks from those who carved them. This allows researchers to study exactly what tools and techniques workers used thousands of years ago.
