Kun Ting Study Hall

Kun Ting Study Hall is a two-story building with traditional Chinese architecture located in Ping Shan, containing classrooms and an ancestral worship chamber. The structure sits within a network of historical buildings that form part of the local heritage landscape.

The building was established in 1870 to honor a respected scholar and prepare students for imperial examinations. After the British took control of the territory in 1898, the facility became a military headquarters before returning to its educational role.

The building shows how education was valued in the local community, with spaces carefully arranged for study and family worship side by side. Visitors can see how scholars and students gathered here, making it a center where learning and family traditions were equally important.
