Vasco da Gama Garden

Vasco da Gama Garden is a public green space in São Lázaro with curved water features and fountains spread across multiple levels. Well-maintained paths connect the different sections and allow easy movement between the raised and lower zones of the park.

The garden was laid out in 1898 during the Portuguese period in Macau. A bust honoring its namesake was added in 1911 to commemorate the city's maritime ties.

The garden is named after a famous Portuguese navigator, reflecting how Macau honors its maritime connections. The mix of European and Chinese design elements shows the multicultural blend that visitors can observe in how the space is laid out and used.

The garden has accessible paths that make it easy to reach all areas regardless of mobility level. An underground parking facility is available for those arriving by car.

The park design connects two sections at different elevations through gradual pathways, creating an interesting three-dimensional landscape. These height variations offer different viewpoints and produce distinct environments throughout the same location.
