The site opened in 1993 under Governor Vasco Joaquim Rocha Vieira and received its current name in 1996 to honor Ho Yin. This naming recognized his contributions to Portuguese-Chinese connections.

The park operates daily from 6 AM to midnight and offers direct access to parking for visitors arriving by car. The central location makes it straightforward to reach on foot or by public transport.
