Macau Wine Museum, Wine museum in Sé district, Macau.
The Macau Wine Museum spreads across 1400 square meters divided into three sections covering winemaking techniques, collector items, and displays of wine from different eras. The layout guides visitors through how wine production and trade developed across different periods.
The museum was founded in 1995 and holds bottles and artifacts spanning several centuries, including a rare wine bottle from 1815. Its creation came as Macau began to recover and celebrate its historical trading connections.
The displays arrange Portuguese wines by their regions of origin, showing how deeply this tradition shaped Macau's trade and daily life over centuries.
The museum is open Wednesday through Monday with free entry and optional wine tasting for a small fee. Plan to spend about an hour or two walking through the three sections at a comfortable pace.
The collection holds more than 1100 different bottles from around the world, making it one of Asia's largest wine collections from such varied origins. This breadth lets visitors notice how wines differ across regions and production methods.
