Dr Carlos d'Assumpção Park, Public park in Sé district, Macau, China
Dr Carlos d'Assumpção Park is a public garden in the Sé district with multiple sections, ornamental fountains, ponds, and shaded arbors. Walking paths wind throughout the grounds, along with seating areas and a waterfront promenade overlooking the Outer Harbour.
The park takes its name from Carlos d'Assumpção, a key Macanese politician of the 20th century who shaped regional development. It was created as part of Macau's urban modernization during the second half of the last century.
The park holds a statue of Kun Lam, the Buddhist goddess of compassion, which local visitors treat as a place for quiet reflection and spiritual connection.
The park is free to enter daily and features playgrounds and plenty of seating for relaxation. Visitors can easily explore the grounds using the flat walking paths that connect all areas.
The park sits next to the Garden of Commander Ho Yin, and together they form a continuous green corridor through the city center. This pair of green spaces creates a rare quiet retreat in the middle of the urban surroundings.
